We are reaching out to the people of the Mapleton area to help support the Faith Enrichment Center, a needed addition to our campus. Currently, our residents lack a place for quiet prayer and reflection. Church services are held in our busy Activity Lounge using a make-shift alter. Our residents and families would embrace a space for family gatherings. This new space will be a haven for those in need.
We are asking people of the area to help fund this $1.4 million Faith Enrichment Center. Please support Mapleton Community Home and help build faith and unity, which is incredibly important to our residents.
What is the Faith Enrichment Center?
- A new chapel and reverent space dedicated to the spiritual needs of our residents, their families and our staff
- A new construction addition to our campus of care
Why is it needed:
- Currently, religious services are held in the busy Activity Lounge using a make-shift altar
- Residents with complex care needs or experiencing end-of-life care need a space to refresh, pray, and gather with family
- Space for residents and families to gather and celebrate life events
- To show our commitment to the faith-building opportunities and quality of life of our current residents and those we will serve in the future.
A reverent chapel and gathering space for skilled nursing
and assisted living residents, families and staff to
refresh, pray and gather with loved ones.
Building quality of life by Building Faith.
We are reaching out to the people of the Mapleton area to help support the Faith Enrichment Center, a needed addition to our campus. We’ve cared for area seniors for 52 years and plan to be ready now and for the future with the new Center.
Currently, our residents lack a place for quiet prayer and reflection. Church services are held in our busy Activity Lounge using a make-shift alter, creating an environment where worship seems to be a second thought.
The Faith Enrichment Center will be available to resident, families and staff. Non-denominational services will be held, plus the Center will be a gathering space for both skilled nursing and assisted living residents. Those experiencing end-of-life care deserve a quiet, reverent space where they, and their families, can refresh, pray and gather with loved ones. Our residents and families will embrace a space for family gatherings. This new space will be a haven for those in need.
Residents have viewed the draft plans and are excited to see the new Center completed. One resident said,
“I have been waiting for this for years
and can’t wait to experience worship in this
wonderful space.”
The Faith Enrichment Center will distinguish Mapleton Community Home and Heritage Place from other senior housing options, and shows our commitment to unity and religious community that is incredibly important to our residents and to all of us, especially in these times.
We are asking people of the area to help fund this $1.4 million Faith Enrichment Center.
Please support Mapleton Community Home and quality of life for our residents, their families and our staff. Our fundraising goal is to provide this life-enhancing space to our residents without the need to raise their rates.

Challenges We Must Meet
As a 100% self-sufficient 501©3 nonprofit charitable organization, without philanthropic contributions, it would not be possible to meet the challenges we face today:
• Over half of the long-term residents living on our campus have outlived their financial resources and are relying in Medicaid (the government program that pays for medical care of the indigent) to pay for their care.
• Medicaid covers only a portion of the true cost of the care for these residents. The gap between the actual cost and Medicaid reimbursement is $100-$125 per day, per resident.
• In 2012 alone we provided more than $1 million in unreimbursed charity care for our residents who outlived their resources.
While many other facilities do not accept residents reliant upon Medicaid, or are quietly decreasing their Medicaid services, we know that to archive our goal of delivering of the best possible care for older adults regardless of their ability to pay, we must constantly:
• Work efficiently and innovatively;
• Reduce our costs of operation;
• Continually make improvements to our processes, facilities and programs without incurring more debt; and
• Develop strong, lasting relationships with large customer and client constituencies.
We know that we must position ourselves financially to weather the reduction of public reimbursement and an increase in government regulations, while we continue to create new programs and revenue streams to fund our operations and attract and retain the best staff. Our community will need the Mapleton Community Home even more in the years to come.
